My Process

Creates engaging, learner-centered experiences for adult learners that positively focus on learning objectives.

Evidence-Based

Designing learning experiences rooted in cognitive science and adult learning principles to ensure knowledge retention and skill application.

Performance-Focused

Aligning instructional strategy directly with business objectives to solve specific performance gaps and improve workforce productivity.

Human-Centric

Crafting intuitive, accessible, and inclusive learning journeys that prioritize the learner's needs, motivations, and workflow environment.

Practice-based

Prioritizing high-engagement, hands-on activities that translate complex concepts into immediate, actionable workplace proficiency.

How I work

Design Philosophy

Every course I build starts the same place: understanding the learner before I design a single slide. From there, I combine what research tells us works with what real people actually need. Evidence based strategies give the course its structure. A performance focus keeps everything tied to what learners will do differently on the job, not just what they will know. And a human centered lens makes sure the experience feels relevant, respectful, and worth their time, never generic and never one size fits all. Practice is where it all comes together. Learners do not build confidence by reading about a skill, they build it by trying, applying, and getting it right in a low stakes space before they need it in the real world. That is the moment I design for, not just understanding, but the "I've got this" feeling that comes right before someone walks away ready to apply what they learned.

My Approach

I start by working closely with SMEs to really dig into the gaps a learning experience needs to close, not just what the content says, but what learners need to walk away with. From there, I design practical, learner-focused solutions built around interactivity and meaningful feedback, so learners don’t just complete a course, they retain and apply it. Behind the scenes, I bring reliability, strong organization, and a genuine commitment to great client service, so the process feels as smooth as the end result.

The Process

Although every project is unique, the eLearning development process usually involves analyzing business problems and creating activities that allow people to learn how to make good decisions that will solve the problems.

This is the way most projects proceed:

1 - Identify the Business Problem

What’s going wrong? Or, what is not happening that should be happening?

2 - Determine the Training Goal

What do people need to do to reach the training goal? This will be the measurable behavior that will solve the business problem.

3 - Gather Information

Include the information required to successfully complete the desired behavior, or training goal. Differentiate need to know vs nice to know information. This involves close collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). Information that is “nice to know” can be incorporated into a job aid.

4 - Design Activities

I design engaging activities that help people practice each necessary behavior. The activities can include online scenario-based courses, eLearning games, microlearning, interactive animated infographics and pdfs, and animated explainer videos.

5 - Review Cycle

I create a working prototype – the client reviews – I create a more detailed version based on feedback – client reviews again – and so on, until the final approval.

6 - Delivery

I provide the final files, to be uploaded to the client’s Learning Management System (LMS).

7 - Evaluation

The client evaluates the success of the solution. Are workplace behaviors changing? Has the training goal been met? Could improvements be made?
